Warehouse team leader

Sterling Personnel are currently working alongside an eCommerce fulfilment service based in Crewe (CW1). Job Role: Warehouse Team Leader Location: Crewe, CW1 Hours: 40 hours per week w/ flexibility Salary: GBP28k Role Purpose: * The role of Team Leader within this ecommerce business plays a key part in leading and motivating warehouse operatives, ensuring day to day SLAs are met while delivering great service and operational excellence. * Managing a team of up to 20 operatives you will be required to demonstrate the ability to manage a successful shift in a multi- customer 3PL. Requirements will include previous 3PL, B2B and B2C management, in a fast-paced environment. General duties will include carrying out daily briefs with the team, planning the training of warehouse operatives and monitoring performance, managing daily picking and packing rates, lead and motivate the team, and locking and securing the site. * A positive attitude towards culture and morale are essential and the initiative to adapt and change. * The successful candidate will ideally have experience within a similar role, and must have strong written and verbal communication, alongside people management and organisational skills, the ability to conduct 1 - 2 - 1s, and be comfortable in formal meetings. A current FLT licence and First Aid qualification would be highly advantageous. * Please note, due to the hours of operation, flexibility is required across shifts and both sites. Responsibilities: * Plan the training of warehouse operatives, monitoring performance and progress through regular reviews, and feedback. * Carry out daily briefs within the team, ensuring objectives are reached throughout the shift. * Efficient use of space/ Plan the layout of client rsquo;s goods effectively, maximizing space * Independently lead and organize a shift (e.g. weekend shift) * Managing daily pick/pack rates within company expectations * Ensure H S and hygiene is always prevalent- checked consistently throughout the shift. * Daily updates to shift managers of team progression, managing day to day workload efficiently. * Completing detailed shift reports * Employee searches * Locking securing the site Required Skills: * People Management * Planning and organisational skills * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Ability to lead and motive others. * Ability to work as part of a team. * Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. * Drive a positive culture / Can do attitude. * PC literate (competent on Microsoft applications) * Comfortable in formal meetings * Conduct 1-2-1s.
