Our client is a lovely new practice based in London that rsquo;s specialise in delivering exceptional, award-winning buildings using clever MEP techniques across the sectors and throughout the world. Their reach is extensive, working on projects in the US, Switzerland, Brazil, Serbia and Montenegro as well as the UK. They are experiencing an exciting time of expansion and profit growth and are now looking for an excited and enthusiastic intermediate electrical engineer to join the team. A bit about you and the role * BEng/BSci or higher in Building Services, Electrical and Electronics engineering or a related subject and/or demonstrable experience of working as an electrical engineer in building services in the UK * Able to work using their own initiative with supervision and support on all technical Electrical services design including but not limited to LV design including cable sizing, lighting and lighting controls, emergency lighting, fire alarms, security systems, lightning, and incorporating renewable energy sources into designs * Preparation and development of concept, feasibility and detailed design proposals, which include specifications, reports, drawings, schematics, calculations * Providing design and technical advice with a multi-disciplinary approach on a wide range of projects * Construction monitoring, commissioning and factory testing The Technical Stuff * Experience of working in the UK industry * Strong technical expertise within electrical building services design, gained working within the UK building services industry for either a consultancy or contractor * Knowledge of Utility and renewable energy requirements, UK design legislation and guidance * Ability to use Dialux lighting and Amtech electrical software * Fully proficient in AutoCAD 2D with either some knowledge of the use of Revit or the desire to learn * MS Office skills, particularly Word and Excel * Ability to sketch and communicate technical detail effectively * Good understanding of lighting design and fire and safety requirements and good understanding of UK energy regs and utility requirements * Ability to input into and write reports What you rsquo;ll need to succeed * BEng/BSc/Meng in engineering discipline * CIBSE / IET / Engineering Council accredited honours degree * Right to work in the UK essential * 3-4 years rsquo; electrical building services design experience * High standard of written and verbal English * Able to handle several ongoing projects at various stage, working independently and consistently achieving high standards * Experience of working on commercial and residential projects * First-rate time management skills, demonstrating the capability to implement plans within time constraints Scratch our back, we rsquo;ll scratch yours * Salary between GBP(phone number removed) with performance related bonus * Fully flexible working with 1 day/week in the studio when in the UK * Unlimited holidays and Private Healthcare * Private pension contributions * Six months full salary parental leave * A great working environment with a supportive team * Fully flexible working environment allowing the team to attend to their families and personal commitments as well as work.
