Design director

Our client is a leading architecture and planning practice in Truro, Cornwall, specialising in bespoke residential and commercial projects. They are currently seeking an experienced Associate Architect/Design Director with at least ten years post-Part 3 experience to lead their dynamic design team, composed of architects, architectural technologists, technicians, town planners, and landscape architects. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, creative flair, and the ability to manage projects from concept to completion, with responsibility for delivery. Key Responsibilities: bull; Lead and manage the architectural design team, ensuring high standards of design and technical delivery. bull; Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept through to completion. bull; Work closely with in-house town planners and landscape architects to integrate planning and landscape considerations into architectural designs. bull; Ensure all projects comply with UK building regulations and are delivered on time and within budget. bull; Provide strong technical knowledge, particularly at the detailing stage. bull; Engage in high-end residential design, ensuring creativity and excellence in all aspects of work. Essential Skills and Experience: * 10+ years post-RIBA Part 3 experience. * ARB accreditation and membership. * Proven excellence in high-end residential design. * Extensive new build experience. * Strong technical knowledge. * Excellent knowledge of UK building regulations. * Proficient in 3D drawing software. * Experience managing teams and delivering residential projects in the UK. * Full driving licence and use of a vehicle. Desirable Skills: * ArchiCAD. * Experience with AutoCAD, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
