Cable Jointing Manager - Thames Valley coverage GBP45,000 - GBP55,000 Per annum Vehcile, Fuel card, OT Standby Following successful award of a new framework contract, our client have an opportunity for a Team Manager who will be responsible for our Cable Jointers working on our Scottish and Southern Energy Networks (SSEN) contract based in the Thames Valley (Reading, Slough and West London). This is a fantastic opportunity either for an experienced team manager or an aspiring craftsperson looking to make their next career move. The ideal candidate will have experience managing teams in an operational environment and be conversant with electrical networks and the applicable authorisations that apply to it. Even beter if you have experience managing faults on the Low Voltage network. On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for ensuring timely and cost-effective planning for teams ensuring they are adequately scheduled with work to ensure optimum service to customers whilst generating revenue for the business. You will be responsible for ensuring your teams are working safely, they are adequately trained and that they have the required plant, equipment and materials to effectively execute their roles. Your teams will carry out works across the Thames Valley and so the position requires travel to different offices and customer sites within the geographic area. Flexibility and a full UK driving licence are essential. There may be occasions when you will need to work further away and stay overnight Responsibilities; - Responsible for helping to continuously deliver safe outcomes for the workforce, customers and members of the public. - Directly responsible for the safety, quality and technical standard of work performed by all staff under your supervision. - Ensuring compliance for yourself and your teams with all legal, regulatory and client requirements at all times. - Be able to demonstrate appropriate knowledge and experience of the inspection, testing, certification and reporting procedures for applicable works your teams undertake. - Develop, coach and motivate your teams to ensure they are high performers. - Responsible for ensuring your teams complete all necessary documentation on a timely basis, for works undertaken using both digital app-based systems and paperwork. - Ensuring that your teams are issued all relevant paperwork required and that they understand the task/s that you have instructed them to undertake. - Carry out site safety audits to ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulations and codes of practice. - Promote and demonstrate a culture of Health, Safety Quality at all times. - Ensure teams carry out works to DNO specifications. - Ensure your teams have all appropriate training, tools and equipment to safely and effectively carry out their roles. - Ensure any project variations are recorded and managed effectively. - Support the HSQE Manager as required Duties will include; - Seting teams to work on new connections, faults and asset maintenance activities. - Regularly audit teams to ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory and client requirements. - Effectively schedule works to ensure high levels of customer service and optimal cost efficiency whilst complying with clients requirements. - Ensuring your teams make commercially sound decisions to maximise income for the business. - Support the team with complex fault-finding exercises on the Distribution network including the restoration of LV supplies by means of fuse replacement, temporary generation, network alterations, fault repairs and linking as appropriate. - Where appropriately authorised, support teams with testing and switching on the LV network - Review updates provided by teams to operational drawings, diagrams and required documentation to ensure fully completed. - Ensure compliance with applicable contract requirements at all times Skills, qualifications and experience; - Ideally you will have managerial experience in an operational environment - Ideally you will have an operational background with a current or expired DNO operational authorisation at LV. - SMSTS or IOSH - Health and Safety Certificate - Technical understanding of Low Voltage Distribution Networks. - NRSWA qualification as a supervisor - CSCS / EUSR accreditation - NERS - Passport Holder ideal but not essential - Awareness of Health and Safety at Work and site specific Risk Assessments - Awareness of ESQC regulations and Electricity at Work act - Have a clean driving licence. - First Aid at work certificate - Manual handling certificate In return out client will offer: GBP45,000 - GBP55,000 P.a Vehcile and Fuel card Overtime Standby rates 20 days Holiday + Bank holidays Real progression due to rate of success within the business.
