The Project As an experienced Temporary Works Engineer, you will provide expert technical support where required on various refurbishment projects within Yorkshire. Projects will range across a number of core sectors such as residential, commercial, leisure and care with build values varying from GBP5m - GBP10m+. You will liaise with other departments across the business to provide; input, guidance and advice on engineering solutions. Requirements For this role it is desired that you carry the following professional qualifications; Membership of a relevant professional body or working towardsIt is essential that you hold the experience below; A proven history of successfully designing and checking Temporary Works to a high standard Proven history of working on projects in a similar position with build values in excess of GBP5m+ Extensive background within the industry with at least 5 years of experience working with tier 1 and tier 2 leading construction contractorsAdditional skills; IT Skills Quality Risk management Effective time management Proficient in utilizing AutoCAD Understanding of construction laws and regulations Strong knowledge of geotechnical issues and design Strong written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail Thorough understanding of construction processes, materials, and methods A solid understanding of relevant design codes and standards relevant to temporary worksThe Role Job Title: Temporary Works Engineer Job Type: Permanent Project: GBP5m - GBP10m - various refurbishment projects across Yorkshire Location: South Yorkshire Reporting to: Project ManagerDuties Liaise with project teams across the wider business Provide input, guidance and advice on engineering solutions Overseeing the setup, upkeep, and disassembly of temporary structures Create design sketches and detailed specifications for temporary structures Reviewing and approving design drawings completed by other team members Perform risk assessments, identifying potential risks, formulating strategies to mitigate them Liaise with various departments and teams, offering insights on engineering issues and solutions Inspect and authorise temporary works on site, as well as fulfilling necessary permit requirements Maintain thorough documentation of temporary works designs, installations, inspections, and alterations Guarantee adherence to applicable safety regulations and standards for all temporary works to minimize hazards to workers, the public, and the project Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to verify temporary structures adhere to approved designs and schedules during installation and maintenance Communicate with clients to comprehend their temporary works requirements and preferences, delivering expert guidance and suggestions to align with their needs Recognise chances for enhancing temporary works design, installation techniques, and safety protocols, then executing adjustments to boost overall efficiency This is a permanent position with an excellent salary on offer for the successful candidate.
