Head of environmental sustainability

Looking for an organisation fully committed to environmental sustainability with influence at the global level? Principal People are working with a corporate services organisation to recruit for a Head of Environmental Sustainability on a 12-month fixed-term contract providing maternity cover. This role will give you the opportunity to influence and develop the environmental sustainability strategies and policies for an organisation that operates on a global scale. The role is also responsible for overseeing operational performance within the HSEQ department of the organisation. The role is a home-based position with occasional travel to Southampton and London. There may also be a requirement for international travel to meet with the rest of the business as well as external bodies such as the UN. Head of Environmental Sustainability - GBP80,000-GBP85,000 + Package - 12 Month FTC ndash; Maternity Cover ndash; Homebased with Occasional Travel ndash; ID: (phone number removed) The successful Head of Environmental Sustainability will be responsible for: Sustainability and Environmental Leadership: Lead the development and delivery of the organisation #39;s environmental sustainability vision, fostering a culture of sustainability throughout the organisation. Oversee the measurement, verification, analysis, and reporting of environmental and sustainability performance, ensuring alignment with global reporting standards. Co-chair the Sustainability Committee, facilitating activities to drive corporate sustainability initiatives. Engage with key stakeholders to promote sustainability and implement innovative initiatives. Benchmark the organisation #39;s sustainability performance against internal and external standards and requirements. QHSE Operational Performance: Develop strategies to improve efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. Lead a global team, defining QHSE practices and driving meaningful projects to support business growth. Manage Safety and Quality Committees and oversee financial aspects relevant to the role. Drive operational excellence through performance measurement programs and cross-regional initiatives. Collaborate with the QHSE Leadership Team to ensure compliance with environmental and H S management systems. The successful Head of Environmental Sustainability will have: Leadership experience in setting targets and managing operational performance. An understanding of working within a global business. Ideally a degree or masters within the environment, sustainability or health and safety field.
