Senior radiation shielding consultant

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Senior Radiation Shielding Consultant to be based in Warrington with hybrid working. The Senior Radiation Shielding Consultant will be required to support the Shielding Discipline Lead in providing technical solutions for projects to include: Delivering radiation models and calculations; including for shielding, dose assessment and neutron activation Assuming shielding technical lead roles within projects Integrating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that shielding issues are identified across projects and that consistent approaches are adopted, and timely support provided to all relevant project stakeholders Mentoring and providing on-the-job training for junior team members Contributing to the enhancement of existing radiation protection proceduresGeneral Responsibilities and Accountability Delivering radiation models and calculations; including for shielding, dose assessment and neutron activation Authoring of shielding reports and related calculation notes, and verification of others #39; work Developing and maintaining excellent working relations with customers, colleagues, and other departments Providing support to strategic growth campaigns and bids, marketing content and presentation materials to support the Strategy Qualifications Degree in a relevant scientific or engineering technical discipline Minimum of five years #39; experience within the nuclear industry as a shielding practitioner Excellent working knowledge of radiation transport codes including some, or all, of the following: Monte Carlo codes (MCBEND, MCNP) and Point kernel codes (RANKERN, Microshield)Why We #39;re Different: Westlakes Recruit are a people solutions business that understands the complexities of nuclear and the importance of our clients #39; mission critical objectives.
