School Cover Manager Kirklees Immediate Start, Permanent GBP24000-GBP26000 per annum The role As School Cover Manager your main responsibility will be to ensure all classes have an appropriate teacher or support staff in place covering short and long-term staff sickness, courses, meetings and school trips. Good communication skills are essential as you will be dealing with internal staff across all levels along with external agencies. You will have strong organisational skills and be able to meet very tight, strict, deadlines. The Cover Manager will also lead a team of Cover Supervisors, supervising lessons during the short-term absence of teachers. The Cover Manager will also act as a Cover Supervisor. Cover Supervisor training can be offered to the successful candidate. Cover Manager responsibilities: Monitor and cover the absence line each morning Maintaining strong relationships with external agencies to provide the best level of service to the school and students Liaise with SLT and other staff members regarding long-term absence and planned trips/courses/medical appointments Manage and create the daily rota for cover within school Meet and greet teachers and support staff providing the relevant school information with timetables and handbook Cover Supervisor responsibilities: Complete class registers Supervise students whilst they are engaged in pre-planned activities, providing help when required whilst monitoring behaviour, ensuring students are on task Provide feedback to the teacher regarding the conduct of the lesson and behaviour Requirements To be considered for the School Cover Manager position, you will: Have previous experience working in an administrative role in a school Have knowledge of SIMS (School Information Management System) Have a high level of literacy and numeracy Have excellent organisational and communication skills What Vision for Education offer As a valued employee of Vision for Education, you will receive: Excellent daily rates paid using the PAYE system Guaranteed pay scheme (subject to availability) Social and networking events Pension contributions CPD to help with your professional development Access to a dedicated consultant About us The Edwin Group is a Top 10 UK employer in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2023.
