Data Centre Technician (Smart Hands) * Location: Farnborough, Hampshire * Hours: Monday-Friday, rotating 8.5 hour shift between 6am - 11pm * Salary: up to GBP40,000 plus shift and oncall allowance + Company Benefits Vysiion Want to be part of a leading British-owned tech and engineering company? Your new role We are recruiting for the role of a Data Centre Technician for providing customer support to our large and diverse client base ensuring service levels are maintained and the ticketing system is fully up to date within the data centre space. Some your responsibilities will include: * Installation of server, network and storage hardware with associated cabling/patching * Perform cabling/patching duties of both copper and fibre for a variety of different client requirements * Decommission hardware and prepare for shipping whilst coordinating with third party couriers * Perform various remote hands duties within Data Centres which include power cycling equipment, replacing failed hardware components, re-seating network cards and testing cabling * Perform regular checks for network activity, firewall status and display errors through LED alerts or system monitoring tools * Perform audit work for clients cabling and hardware and produce supporting documentation What you rsquo;ll need to succeed * Must meet SC and BPSS security clearance vetting and approval requirements * Previous experience in a similar role * Ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail and being able to make informed decisions * Well organized and self-motivated with the ability to work alone and as part of team * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Full UK Driving License and personal car is essential for this position * Logical in your approach to troubleshooting, problem solving and fault diagnosis * Ability to take ownership of issues and following through to resolution * Willingness to learn with friendly, professional, and flexible attitude What we offer * Career progression opportunities into management or other engineering roles * Autonomy and freedom to manage your own time and workload * Vibrant company culture with a wide range of events and social activities throughout the year * Comprehensive benefits including on-site cafe with free barista coffee, birthday leave, charity leave, vitality health cover and holiday purchase scheme to gain an extra 5 days leave!
