What the role as a Primary Teaching Assistant entails: Your role will mostly entail providing academic support to the class as a whole. This will look like supporting the students with the clas work, helping them stay on track, supporting their reading and phonics and also helping with classroom behaviour management. While you embark on supporting these students, will learn all the necessary qualities to make an amazing teacher. While you will be supporting the classroom and students, you will also support the class teacher. This will look like helping to set up of lessons, tidying and clearing up after lessons, providing general supervision of the class and help with behaviour management. You may also be asked to help with school outings and help supervise outdoor activities. The Successful Teaching Assistant: The successful teaching assistant will be enthusiastic and keen to get stuck in. You will have a passion to work with children and make a difference in the education sector. You must be proactive and be able to match your approach to fit the needs of the child you are working with.
