Site engineer

Site Engineer Galldris Group Location: Balsall Common, Coventry An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Site Engineer to join our team onsite in Balsall Common, Coventry. To be considered, you will come from a Civil Engineering background with site experience preferably RC structures. As Site Engineer you will support in the delivery of reinforced concrete structures ensuring works are constructed in accordance with the contract drawings and specifications. The Site Engineer will undertake setting out and surveys, assist with supervision of the workforce, implement safe systems of work and quality systems (RAMS, ITPs, WIS sheets) and keep detailed daily records. Key Accountabilities to include but not limited to: Health, Safety Environment: * Monitoring RAMS compliance * Contribute to the achievement of Galldris rsquo;s Safety Targets and zero tolerance of unsafe working practices * Ensure Galldris company health, safety and quality systems standards and project engineering standards are adhered to Programme Progress: * Have understanding of the short term lookahead programmes * Feedback and report issues on site which may delay programme or progress. Assist with preventing, identifying and rectifying issues on site which may impact the programme Design Design Assurance * Permanent Design ndash; Familiarising yourself with the design drawings, specifications and setting out requirements and ensure accurate construction in accordance with requirements * TQs ndash; Highlight issues and raise queries to the appropriate line manager Quality Management * ITPs ndash; Checking the process is being followed * QA Records ndash; assisting with keeping organised and accurate QA records in accordance with ITPs and project requirements * NCRs Defects ndash; Assisting with documenting, tracking and closing out * Quality Readiness Reviews ndash; assisting in Lessons Learnt/Improvements Operations: * Accurate setting out duties on site using relevant surveying equipment * Surveys and collation of as-built information Commercial / Other * Support Project Manager and Commercial team in collating records and diaries * Undertake other duties commensurate with the level of this position Experience/Knowledge: * Experience in Civil Engineering, with good technical knowledge. Site experience in civil engineering, preferably RC structures * Knowledge of RC works, RMD formwork, highways and groundworks, working in high profile, Tier 1 environment with attention to health, safety, environment and quality * Knowledge of reinforced concrete structures desirable * Experienced and proficient with Trimble or Leica EDMs Laser Levels * Working knowledge of CDM regulations. Experience of working in a cost-conscious environment Skills: * Skilled in the use of a variety of setting out instruments. Confident in understanding reinforcement drawings and BBS * Computer literate including MS Office, AutoCad and cloud based document management systems * Good communication and people skills. Able to work under own initiative * Proficient in setting out and surveying * Ability to speak up on HSEQ matters and lead by example * Ability to demonstrate the right behaviours and work both independently and as part of a team * Computer literacy advanced, proficient in auto CAD is desirable Qualifications: * Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalent * CSCS * IOSH Managing Safely, SMSTS, SSSTS, First Aider, Fire Marshall, IPAF (for MEWPs), HS2 inducted already, Fit for work medical (or safety critical medical), TWS desirable Interested applicants must be eligible to work legally in the UK.
