Qualified Team Manager ndash; Integrated Learning Disability Team ndash; South - West London Role: Qualified Team Manager Location: South - West London Team: Integrated Learning Disability Team Pay: up to GBP43 per hour Contract: Full-Time Locum In the office: Hybrid We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker Team Manager to lead our Integrated Learning Disability Team in South-West London. This role requires a passionate professional with a strong background in managing learning disability (LD) teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality services. Key Responsibilities: Provide strong leadership and management of the team, enabling members to embrace and move forward with changes in a positive, enthusiastic, and effective way. To ensure that workloads are prioritised and allocated effectively. To develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, volunteers, customers, carers, and other agencies. To chair case conferences and multi-agency meetings as required and represent the department at seminars, relevant inter-disciplinary and strategic meetings. To be responsible for the maintenance of high standards of work within the service through the monitoring of performance in relation to all aspects of service delivery including file recording, auditing, workload distribution, staffing and direct provision. To contribute to the budget preparation process as required. To ensure that budgetary control procedures are carried out in relation to expenditure and income such that approved estimates are not exceeded and that limits on delegated power to authorise expenditure are adhered to. To conduct investigations under relevant complaints and enquiry procedures and contribute to analysis of trends, making recommendations for improvements. To ensure the compassionate investigation of complaints in accordance with procedures and statutory requirements. To participate in the development of policy, procedures, and strategic plans for people with a learning disability and or autism in Merton. To attend policy and commissioning meetings. To lead in the recruitment of staff and to ensure the proper induction of all new and temporary staff. Ensure all staff have regular supervision and an annual appraisal; and support staff in their professional development utilising corporate training and professional qualification/post qualification opportunities. Take lead responsibility for keeping up to date with national and local developments in relation to Learning Disability and Autism. Ensure staff are conversant with legislation, regulations, guidance, policies, and procedures relevant to the work of the service particularly in relation to the Mental Capacity Act , Care Act 2014 and Transforming Care . To ensure compliance with departmental and corporate procedures, systems, policies and practice standards in all aspects of work for which the post holder and/or subordinate staff are responsible. To contribute to the budget preparation and monitoring process, ensuring that budgetary control procedures are carried out in relation to expenditure and income. To be responsible for prudent and well-managed use of community care funding by having the responsibility for authorising Personal Budgets , Packages of Care and placements up to a designated financial limit. To ensure that case records are promptly and properly maintained to a good standard and in line with policy. To develop, implement and maintain audit control measures and produce reports as required, which enable the performance of allocated resources to be evaluated. In consultation with the Service Manager put forward proposals to develop the service and where these are approved take responsibility for their implementation. To implement the use of Direct Payments as effectively as possible . To ensure compliance with departmental and corporate procedures, systems, policies, and practice standards in all aspects of work for which the postholder and/or subordinate staff are responsible To demonstrate a high level of IT competency and literacy and support to the team in this area. Ensure the performance and activity of the team is as required and performance monitoring is undertaken regularly to support this . To ensure Safeguarding is provided effectively and in a timely manner within the team. To act as a Safeguarding Manager and ensure Making Safeguarding Personal is central to the implementation of safeguarding within the team . To ensure the needs of Carers are considered within all work and that effective and clear communication is maintained with Carers , Family and Friends as appropriate . To respond to complaints and enquiries and provide clear responses to all enquiries from members. To network with partners across the borough and ensure the development of positive relationships with the team across health and social care. To manage the effective assessment of primary health need and work with the Continuing Health Care Team. To ensure that Corporate and Departmental Health and Safety policies are always implemented and any concerns regarding their operation, or any other health and Safety Matters are raised with relevant managers . To promote and ensure compliance with the Council rsquo;s Equal Opportunities Policy. To work flexibly in direct liaison with other Teams to agree the best course of action for the customers and their carers, both at the point of intake and/or following a period of case management by the provider team. To carry out other such duties as may be required by or on behalf of the Director commensurate with the grade of the post. Requirements: Qualified Social Worker with current registration. Significant experience in managing a Learning Disability team. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members. Excellent understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. Proven ability to manage complex casework and ensure high standards of practice. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders. Benefits: Competitive hourly rate of GBP43.
