Assistant Project Accountant Warton Based GBP27.95 an hour Umbrella Inside IR35 12 Month Contract initially. This is a great opportunity to work within one of the UK #39;s leading Defence organisations based in Warton (Hybrid working 2-3 days in the office per week) Reporting to your line leader, you will both support and have own responsibities for customer focused Project Finance deliverables, aiding the Business in the effective and profitable delivery of customer projects through all financial aspects of the project lifecycle. You will be supporting the delivery of best-in-class financial planning, analysis and insights, to all internal and external customers, to drive growth and deliver superior performance. The successful candidate will be required to perform tasks suitable to the internal level of this role. The role will contain, but will not be limited to, the following: The Assistant Project Accountant will support the business with project finance deliverables, providing effective challenge, governance and partnership with the programme teams, as well as the wider Finance function. * Driving Business Performance: Assist in the production of timely insights, analysis and business intelligence to drive performance. Support timely working capital cycle for projects. * Reporting: Assist in the delivery of accurate month end management reporting, on time, including; Project reporting outputs, Monthly management reporting with analysis and insights analysing in-year financial performance * Project lifecycle support: Assist project teams on whole life of projects, including initial setup, forecasting, trading, reporting and analysis, and closure. * Financial control: Operate robust and effective financial controls in line with Financial Control Framework and Finance Policies manual. Support external and internal audit as required. * Process improvement: Contribute towards identifying and delivering improvements to processes within Project Finance. Support ongoing Finance Modernisation activity, in particular digital reporting improvements. * Systems improvement: Contribute towards system improvements and embrace change towards a data-centric and digital culture. * People Development: Ensure own skills and experience are matched with business demands, and ensuring collaborative working relationships with stakeholders are maintained. The role requires an individual with strong interpersonal skills, who can build strong internal networks within finance and with other functions. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Finance Business Partners (FBPs) and Integrated Project Teams (IPTs).
