Field service engineer electrical

Job Title: Field Service Engineer - Electrical Salary: 40k ndash; 50k HOURS: Mon-Friday- 37.5 hours a week- 10 hour days REMOTE: Can be based anywhere in the UK. This is a field-based position on a Global scale. Will have to be comfortable with travelling overseas. Current 5 year project is in India. Full expenses paid- accom, travel and meals. (Inbetween projects can just be at home-no travel for training required) RIGHT TO WORK- No sponsorship provided - You must have the right to work in UK and able to travel overseas with no restrictions. Must Haves: * Turbine Experience * Technical knowledge and experience of gas turbine operation particularly fuel systems gas generators and power turbine assemblies * Specific knowledge of gas turbine units manufactured by GEC Gas Turbines along with knowledge of Rolls Royce Avon and Olympus or RB211 gas generators would be beneficial but not essential. * A minimum of an ONC or equivalent in Electrical Electronic Engineering please note relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a formal qualification. * Experience of operating independently on site and in an office environment Offshore Safety Survival Certificate desirable Health and Safety training and experience. * Full and valid UK driving licence. * First hand commercial industry experience combined with a technical knowledge of Gas Turbine products and aftermarket services. * Pragmatic and organised you will be able to prioritise multiple tasks within highly dynamic and safety critical environments. * Capability of troubleshooting and fault-finding operational issues on a gas turbine package and their control systems. * Able to build and maintain good customer relations. * Self-motivated with the ability to work calmly and confidently under pressure. * Appreciation of my clients rsquo; market drivers and activities. * Project management awareness. * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar. Description: - You will be an organised and customer focused Field Service Engineer working extensively on site, either alone or as part of a team (sometimes in a supervisory role) carrying out mechanical maintenance and installation work for our customers - Whilst adhering to all Health and Safety requirements, your role will be to provide engineering expertise in mechanical service and maintenance, working on UK and international sites for both onshore and offshore installations. - You are expected to be flexible to work on site for significant periods of time, as part of the service and maintenance of gas turbine packages and the installation of upgrades. - Customer facing site representative. - All job holders need to demonstrate, understand, and implement the company values within their roles. - Independently carry out Field Service tasks to ensure completion safely, on time and to the highest standards. - Undertake personal continual development and cross training of Field Service skills to maximise your expertise. - Site-based strip, build and inspect, equipment outages and upgrades which focus on the servicing and repair of predominantly GEC legacy packaged gas turbines and power turbine assemblies in the 10 to 80 MW range, along with Ruston Gas Turbine TA and TB units. Key Responsibilities and Tasks: - Produce and maintain site programmes and other site-related documentation, including site visit reports. - Complete Borescope inspections of Industrial Gas Generators and Power Turbines using technical expertise to produce reports of findings and recommendations for future actions. - Inspect and maintain auxiliary systems supporting gas turbines, including pumps, valves, motors, and similar components. - Complete alignment and balance checks between the power turbine and the driven unit equipment. - Complete specific projects related to the business of my client, including the potential to work in the Aberdeen workshop for small durations. - Write accurate and clear customer reports, outlining the tasks completed and any recommendations made. - Support the FSE Manager to ensure Field Service tasks are carried out safely and within tolerance. - Timely escalation of all critical performance issues and/or customer concerns to the FSE Manager/Operations team. - Ensure all customer and business requirements are met whilst adhering to company processes, Health and Safety and Environmental regulations. Education (qualifications training): - Technical knowledge and experience of servicing gas turbines, particularly the power turbine and gas generator assemblies and their associated auxiliary systems. - Specific knowledge of gas turbine units manufactured by GEC Gas Turbines along with knowledge of Rolls Royce Avon and Olympus or RB211 gas generators this would be beneficial but not essential. - Apprenticeship trained or a minimum of an ONC / equivalent in Electrical Electronic Engineering - please note relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a formal qualification. - Experience of operating independently on site and in an office environment Offshore Safety Survival Certificate desirable (My client will provide necessary training course if not available) Skills (capabilities qualities) Experience: - First-hand commercial industry experience combined with a technical Knowledge of Gas Turbine products and aftermarket services. - Health and Safety training and experience. - Full and valid driving license. - Pragmatic and organised you will be able to prioritise multiple tasks within highly dynamic and safety-critical environments. - Capability of troubleshooting and fault-finding operational issues on a gas turbine package and their auxiliary systems. - Able to build and maintain good customer relations. - Self-motivated with the ability to work calmly and confidently under pressure. - Appreciation of my clients rsquo; market, drivers and activities. - Project management awareness. - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar.
