Role Description Support Worker -Autism and Learning Disabilities Please note: If you require a Visa to work in the UK, SeeAbility is currently unable to support any sponsorship requests. Location: Shippon, Abingdon, Oxfordshire Salary: GBP12.50 per hour (GBP24375 per annum) plus benefits: paid induction, enhanced overtime paid on weekends (Above 37.5 hours contract), a paid sleep-in shift of GBP50. Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a shift rota basis. Shift Patterns: 7.30 am ndash; 3.00 pm, 2.30 pm ndash; 10.00 pm, 10pm to 7:30am (sleep-in) Employment Type: Full time, PermanentYou must hold a full UK driving licence to apply for this role Do you have experience supporting people with autism, challenging behaviour and learning disabilities? We are on the lookout for Support Workers who are calm, patient, and resilient. You will need to be able to have a drive and be consistent to assisting the person we support to engage in the interests he loves. As a support worker, you will be part of an experienced staff team working within a calm and vibrant home where no two days are the same. Support worker duties include: Daily activities such as cooking meals, basic cleaning tasks, medication administration (after completing relevant training), food shopping with the person we support. Providing support for offsite activities such as going out for walks, drives, gym and any other interests and appointments. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the person you will take care of. Helping the person you will assist plan towards and achieve both short and long term aims. Taking personal responsibility for the quality of care and assistance delivered to the person you will care for Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the person you will take care of Ensuring the person, you will assist and their family is treated with respect, dignity, and equality To work in accordance with SeeAbility rsquo;s valuesWe are looking for someone who can devote to 37.5 per week and are willing to work on a shift rota basis, covering mornings, evenings, and weekends including 1 sleep-in a week on average. You will work closely with the registered manager, deputy manager to ensure that we are delivering the best person-centred care, ensuring outstanding delivery of support in line with our vision; inclusive communities where the person with autism and learning disabilities participate as an equal citizen. As a support worker you rsquo;ll be part of a team that includes support from a positive behaviour support consultant. Your day-to-day management will come from an experienced, passionate leader who will work alongside you. This will assist you with your own leadership and interactions that will in turn enable people to move forward in their lives creating community connections, friends, hobbies, interests, and work. Being passionate, creative and values led will really help you in achieving the small and bigger goals and outcomes that we all see as part of a safe, happy, healthy and empowering life. You will be driving the person we support in their car, so full UK clean drivers license is essential for this role. Who will you be supporting? James* Lives in a single occupancy home which is purposely adapted to meet his complex needs. He loves going out to buy things, walks, drives and sight seeing at local lakes. When he is not out enjoying himself, he usually likes being at home playing with toys, solving puzzles, baking yummy treats. When he is tired of it all he likes resting at home while watching TV and listening to music.
