Intermediate Electrical Estimator GBP45,000 - GBP65,000 Canary Wharf Streamline recruitment are currently working alongside a leading M E contractor who have been established since 1985, who are currently looking to have an Intermediate Electrical Estimator join their Canary Wharf Division. The Role: Streamline Recruitment require an Intermediate Estimator to join the Estimating team to aid in our clients continued expansion. The right candidate needs to be driven, self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative when under pressure whilst also being a positive collaborator within a tight team. Experience in Electrical Estimating required in addition to onsite electrical experience being desirable. The candidate will be required to attend external site visits with our Clients, Suppliers Subcontractors and reflect a positive professional image as well as the confidence to clarify bids with clients. The candidate will have proven electrical installation and/or estimating experience, good technical and analytical skills, excellent computer skills, understand clear timelines and be able to meet targets efficiently for the department. The candidate will be working alongside the Estimating Manager and Senior Electrical Estimator and will be responsible for creating compliant quotations from supplied Tender Documents. On successful conversion of quotations, the estimator will be required to produce a hand over to the Contracts Team, attend Preconstruction meetings and negotiate supplier/subcontractor quotes to attain best value. Key Responsibilities: bull; Prepare estimates and proposals used to secure new business. bull; Establish new tender opportunities by understanding job specifications and drawings. bull; Accurately calculate take-offs from drawings including materials and hours. bull; Attend site/tender walkthroughs to cross reference drawings to identify proactive solutions and avoid potential site interferences where required. bull; Understanding of the planning and sequencing of construction of projects. bull; Communication with client to clarify unclear specifications/wording through RFI #39;s. bull; Coordinate with sub-contractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing used for bid submission. bull; Participate in site reviews, tender reviews, tender hand-over and project close out meetings as needed. bull; Support the Estimating manager with their role. Key Requirements: bull; Onsite Electrical experience, completion of an electrical Apprenticeship. bull; 3-4 years of experience as an electrical estimator bull; Experience pricing Data Centres, Commercial fit outs, Infrastructure replacements. bull; Excellent computer skills including Excel, PowerPoint Word. bull; Understanding of Estimating Software rsquo;s, previous experience of Trimble would be favourable but not a necessity. bull; Full UK Driving license. bull; Ability to manage own workloads, meeting Client lead deadlines
