Semh teacher

A brand new therapeutic school in South Woodham is looking for multiple teachers to join their team from September 2024. SEMH Teachers are responsible for the highest standards of the quality of education and behaviour management for their children who have significant SEMH as well as other associated SEN. You can be primary or secondary trained, the main aspect is that you are passionate about supporting children and young people with SEMH needs and providing outstanding education in a therapeutic way. If you do have a subject specialism, that is an added bonus! Key Responsibilities: * To motivate, engage and inspire their children. * To facilitate a well sequenced curriculum and child-centred learning. * To ensure learning and lessons are well sequenced and meet the needs of children. * To ensure assessment for learning/assessing progress is kept up to date, monitored and used effectively to support each child rsquo;s learning. * To role-model the values the school stands for and to be a role-model of outstanding professionalism. * To develop short-term planning to ensure coverage, progression and sequence of a range of learning experiences across the curriculum. * To create a well-managed, secure and happy classroom where priority is given to the quality of the learning environment, maximising opportunities for children to learn. * To report to and involve families in the development and achievement of children. * To work as a member of the team to ensure consistency, continuity and progression across the curriculum. * To share responsibilities for all aspects of school life necessary to ensure efficient and effective functioning, including aspects of the school improvement plan. * To oversee target setting for raising achievement of your children. * To be aware of, and comply with, all policies and procedures related to child protection safeguarding, bullying, data protection confidentiality. Requirements: * QTS is essential. QTLS will not be accepted. * Experience or strong desire to work with children with SEMH and SEND. * Strong academic skills to support teaching across the curriculum. * Reflective practitioner eager to progress professionally. * Able to recognise own training needs and willing to undergo relevant training. * Attention to detail, including in terms of presentation, punctuality and supporting the maintenance of an attractive environment for learning. * Ability to support families and carers of children with challenging behavior.
