CNC Machinist (Milling Boring) ndash; Programmer / Setter / Operator Role Purpose Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for machining of parts on CNC machinery with Fanuc controller. You must be able to programme, set and operate the machine to produce accurate components, working to drawings and specifications with a minimum of supervision. To meet the business vision and objectives, you will need to deliver your workload on time, to budget and to the quality requirements. Key Activites/Decision Areas Write programmes for your own work, during machining operations wherever practical Plan the setting up and holding of your own work including making up fixtures as required Produce a wide range of low volume or one-off machined parts that satisfy the time, cost and quality requirements stated in the work instructions Work to tight tolerances and check own work during production Maintain accurate records for all work in order to satisfy company standards and procedures Essential role related knowledge, technical skills, qualifications and experience Must be apprentice trained and have a good understanding of manufacturing protocols including OEE and 5S. You will have a working knowledge of feeds and speeds coupled with personal motivation Must have experience on CNC machinery with Fanuc controls Experience of working on low volume medium to large sized components Take ownership of the tooling, fixtures, programming, setting and operating of each job, and assure component quality conformance Can demonstrate a passion and pride in their work and working area A willingness to be flexible for business requirements including overtime and weekend work on occasions Experienced machinist who has produced high tolerance machined parts to engineering drawings Be able to read engineering drawings, understand tolerances, machine finishes, machining various materials, including stainless steel, carbon steel and alloys An excellent attention to detail Must be self-motivated and able to take responsibility for own work Work in a conscientious manner working to high levels of cleanliness, safety and quality Be able to use measuring equipment such as micrometres, verniers in ensuring components are to drawing Benefits 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Annual leave buy and sell Death in Service - 3x salary Scottish Widows Pension Sickness Benefit (after successful completion of probationary period) Employee Assistance Programme Da Vinci employee portal that offers discounts, offers, and employee assistance programme
