Health and Safety Manager Reports to: Head of Health and Safety Location: Chichester Salary: Up to GBP36,000 Type: 37 hours per weekDovetail and Slate are recruiting on behalf of a leading education provider based in Chichester. Role Purpose Line manage and provide support to the Health and Safety Officers To act in the absence of the Head of Health and Safety. Work with the Head of Health and Safety in ensuring compliance with all aspects of Health and Safety Legislation.Main Duties To carry out Health and Safety risk assessments where required. e.g., Fire Risk Assessment, COSHH Assessments, Health and Safety risk assessments To provide guidance and support to all departments to ensure compliance with Health and Safety Legislation. Assist in ensuring all departments have suitable, up to date and sufficient risk assessments in place and that these are adhered to. Ensure the appropriate first aid provisions are in place and co-ordinate the first aid courses for their area including communications with the license company. Undertake inspections of buildings and produce reports detailing required actions and ensure follow up actions are undertaken Ensure the Groups Health and Safety management systems are maintained and up to date and prepare reports as required. To investigate accidents or incidents that occur and report findings to the Head of Health and Safety Manage and maintain central Health and Safety training records. Take a leading role in emergency evacuations where required.Requirements NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent Experience of Health and Safety legislation Experience undertaking of risk assessments Experience developing Health and Safety processes First Aid at Work Certificate or willingness to obtain Able to pass a DBS check No previous convictionsBecause education matters.
