Main Purpose of the Job: - To work alongside the Registered Manager to manage the service #39;s existing workforce and resources, as well as to promote and safeguard the welfare of the young people in our care. - To assist the manager in achieving the aims and objectives of the Statement of Purpose. - To deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager. - To support and manage the staff to enable them to meet the needs of the young people. - To undertake direct work with young people as appropriate. - To be the responsible person in managing child protection concerns and complaints. - To work in partnership with other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for young people - To ensure that resources are allocated appropriately, and financial records are accurately maintained Person Specification: - A good standard of literacy and numeracy - NVQ 3 / Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) - Residential Experience - Team Building and Supervision Skills - Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing - Understanding the needs of young people who have experienced trauma including managing challenging behaviours - Good organisational skills
