Candidate required: Buyer ndash; Residential Start date: Immediate Industry: Construction professionals South Location: Poole Salary package dependant on experience: GBPDOE + Package The role about the client: On behalf of our client, ITS Building People (Southampton) are searching for an experienced Buyer to join a Ringwood based residential developer. Due to sustained and continuous growth as well as an order book stretching well past 2024 they are looking to add to their commercial team. You will report directly to the Commercial Manager and will be an experienced Construction buyer who can provide take offs from drawings. Principal accountabilities of the role include: To primarily be responsible for the buying for at least 2-4 sites of varying complexity ensuring Site Managers queries and requisitions are processed promptly and efficiently to ensure build programmes and quality are maintained Scheduling of materials from drawings to raise purchase orders for Site Managers to call off, accurately and efficiently to maintain building on time and within budget Producing material cost analysis to ensure competitive prices and budgets are maintained to add to the profitability for the region Keep abreast with latest building products and new legislation so that we may maintain company standards Ensuring orders are raised in accordance with Group Procurement Procedures so that the business maintains consistency and quality of build Liaison with other departments on time to ensure sites run efficiently (Construction, Sales, Customer Care, Accounts) Comply with responsibilities as defined in the Group rsquo;s Health, Safety Environment Policy and ensure compliance with the same throughout the team to promote safety in the way we build projects Ensure that the buying team are allocated tasks, where quality of work will need to be verified to maintain it is completed to a good standard within company guidelines Given proven experience the role will involve mentoring and training junior members of the team and developing their skills to a sufficient level where they can take on more responsibility and add value to the team, thus improving productivity within the region On occasion provide assistance to the Technical / Commercial Director when making key business decisions and attend regular regional meetings as the relevant subject expert Essential A confident and numerate professional who has previous Buyer experience within a construction company and can provide take offs from drawings Be self-motivated, asks questions, wants to learn and has a good work ethic Must be adaptable, have a strong and consistent management style with the site teams and supply chain Must be proficient in Excel Confident negotiation skills Full Driving licence is essential Training/Progression opportunities: Opportunities to progress into Senior Buyer level role Where a range of rate of pay is quoted the level of experience, qualifications related training required is the minimum required in order to qualify for the lowest rate of pay quoted.
