Business intelligence manager

We rsquo;re seeking a Business Intelligence Manager to lead our Performance team within the housing directorate. The successful candidate will have oversight for business intelligence, risk, and service learning. This role involves direct line management of 4 Senior Performance Data Officers and requires a proactive approach to organising workload, keeping senior leaders appraised of key performance reporting requirements, and updating the performance framework in line with regulatory requirements. The role demands a keen eye for determining the most appropriate KPIs to monitor as a directorate dashboard, evaluating risks, and testing out assumptions. The successful candidate will be responsible for influencing service improvement plans as a result of data analysis and leading on the structure of a governance model for customer and performance learning. Role Responsibilities: 1. Analysing and determining the most appropriate KPIs for scrutinising at the different governance panels for the directorate. 2. Sourcing appropriate performance data from systems within the Council, operational teams, and suppliers. 3. Driving the timely collation of data from multiple sources to draw conclusions on performance. 4. Oversight of monitoring the performance data for the directorate as a whole. 5. Compiling intelligence reports to inform decision making and negotiation. 6. Informing service improvement and adjustments to directorate operations. 7. Producing the annual performance report for Housing. 8. Leading on insight reporting on a regular basis to the directorate and Council. Personal Specification: 1. An applied understanding of the challenges and requirements of performance management, data quality, and intelligence in a local government setting. 2. Advanced knowledge of performance/intelligence/data quality in Housing. 3. Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office. 4. Excellent leadership and people management skills. Essential Experience: 1. Previous experience of managing a business intelligence function, resolving and reviewing complaints. 2. Experience of working in a large complex, political organisation. 3. Experience of successfully building and leading cross-functional and virtual teams to deliver agreed outcomes. 4. Evidence of using relationship management to engage, build and maintain strong relationships within the organisation.
