Quantity surveyor

Quantity Surveyor Location : Greenwich The Project The Silvertown Tunnel project was awarded to the consortium Riverlinx CJV (Ferrovial Construction, BAM and SK) at the end of May 2019. This complex 5-year project will construct a twin-bore road tunnel under the Thames in east London which will link Silvertown to the Greenwich Peninsula. The Silvertown Tunnel aims to prepare for London rsquo;s future population growth and relieve the congestion and poor air quality around the 122-year-old Blackwall tunnel. It is the UK rsquo;s first road tunnel to have dedicated bus lanes, buses are all expected to be zero emission vehicles and will support the increasing demand for bus transport across Greenwich, Newham and Tower Hamlets. The Silvertown Tunnel (STT) Project involves the construction of a twin-bore road tunnel with a Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM), providing a new connection between the A102 Blackwall Tunnel Approach on Greenwich Peninsula and the Tidal Basin Roundabout junction on the A1020 Lower Lea Crossing/ Silvertown Way. Key Responsibilities * Processing payments to subcontractors in an efficient and timely manner, ensuring that targets and deadlines are being met. * Ensuring that all records have the correct authorisations and relevant coding specifications. * Supporting the Commercial Manager when pricing variations for the Employer. * Providing commercial support to the delivery team * Generating Excel reports for internal purposes and Payment Applications to the Client. * Monthly records are to be checked on a regular basis and reconciled where necessary. * To promote company values in all dealings with other employees, clients, subcontractors and other external contacts. * Contribute to the achievement of Health and Safety in accordance with company policy Key skills and experience * Qualified with a Quantity Surveying degree or similar. * Good knowledge of NEC contracts * Excellent communication skills and ability to interact at a variety of levels throughout the Company as well as partners, suppliers and customers. * Good influencing and persuasive skills and ability to builds effective working relationships with people at many levels. * Methodical in approach * Quantity Surveying experience working for a Main Contractor or Subcontractor. * Previous experience in Mechanical and Electrical works is desirable.
