Engineering project manager

My client in Malvern is currently in need of a Engineering Project Manager due to expansion. My client supplies systems ranging from a new control and data logging system for an existing test cell through to a new turn key test cell complete with dynamometer, cooling systems, measurement equipment including integrated cell support infrastructure and independent safety protection solutions. Job: They have an opportunity for a Projects Manager/Site Manager, responsible for the planning, management, coordination and financial control of projects. The position would be based at their offices in Malvern but there would be a requirement to travel and spend extended periods at customer sites. This role would be primarily suited to someone who has experience of running multi-faceted projects with a mix of internal equipment and specialist contractors. A working knowledge of CDM would be advantageous to the role, with demonstrable skills in achieving tight project schedules. Ideally you will come from a back ground technical discipline and developed the required commercial skills to be an effective PM. Reporting to: Managing Director Tasks: * Initiate the project - check feasibility and work out budgets, teams and resources. * Carry out planning - this will include setting goals and objectives, defining roles and producing schedules and timelines for tasks - in accordance with the needs of the client. * Select, lead, and motivate the project team from both internal and external stakeholders. * Manage the project - which includes coordinating the project team to keep them on track and keeping the project on budget. * Carry out monitoring and control activities to track the progress of the project. * Identify and manage risks to ensure delivery is on time. * Ensure that the client is aware of the ldquo;milestone rdquo; timelines and encourage payment to Sierra once they have been fulfilled. * Implement any necessary changes throughout the process. * Report regularly to management and the client * Close the project - including evaluating successes and challenges to enhance learning for the next project.
