We put a lot of emphasis on positive behaviour support, which enables our service users to modify some of their behaviours into more holistic habits which empower them to express themselves more effectively. We are looking for people who are positive about following behaviour rsquo;s plans, use of visuals, now and next cards, and planners in order to build up stable and meaningful routines, enhance our service users understanding of their surroundings and their involvement in decision making. Purpose of the Role: The purpose of the role of Positive Behaviour Support Worker is to work with people in their home ensuring that their needs are met. We expect you at all times to have an acute focus on their behaviours and well-being, taking positive action at all times to safeguard the individuals. You will develop positive relationships building trust and confidence. Main Duties and Responsibilities: To supervise and lead a team of support workers to enable our service users to lead as fulfilling and satisfying a life as they possibly can. To act as a role model for staff, so that they are encouraged to understand the people you are support. To be actively engaged with service users and staff, continuously seeking opportunities for improvements to service users rsquo; lifestyles and staff rsquo;s skills and commitment to achieve this. To participate in the day-to-day implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment. To maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and other whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality. To maintain accurate notes and records as and when required. To work as part of a team to provide high quality care. Qualifications and skills: You will have experience in working with complex individuals and will hold a level 3 diploma in health and social care. Positive behaviour training would be an advantage however you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of working with complex people and the challenges they face. You will be forward thinking and use communication to facilitate and break down barriers to good care. Personal Characteristics: NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is essential. Experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues. The ability to keep calm under pressure. Confidence to work alone and as part of a team. Excellent communication skills. The passion to work with vulnerable Adults. The desire and commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding.
