Cargo agent

We are recruiting for a number of cargo agents to join the team for the start of June. Working in a bonded warehouse you will be able to complete a 5 year background check, hold or apply for a DBS check and also have an up to date cargo Operative course certificate. We are able to put you through you online cargo training if needed. Please only apply if you you can meet the requirements of this position Position: Full-time Minimum 40 hour week. Perm contracted salary GBP12.50 - GBP14.50 PH Overview: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cargo Agent to join our team. As a Cargo Agent, you will be responsible for handling and managing cargo/aircraft shipments in a warehouse setting. This is a physically demanding role that requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: - Build and load cargo onto trucks or aircraft, ensuring proper handling and secure packaging - Unload cargo from trucks or aircraft and transfer it to the designated storage area - Verify shipping and receiving documents to ensure accuracy of information - Utilize mechanical knowledge to operate equipment such as forklifts and other material handling tools - Maintain inventory accuracy by conducting regular counts and reconciling discrepancies - Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries - Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks - Utilize warehouse management systems to track and monitor cargo movement - Perform general warehouse duties as assigned Skills: - Strong physical stamina and ability to perform heavy lifting (up to [weight] pounds) - Proficient in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment - Knowledge of warehouse management systems and ability to navigate computerized systems - Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively - Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written - Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues Please note that all positions at our company are paid, including internships.
