Maintenance technician

Contek are working with a client who manufacture independently in the UK from their factory in Leeds, West Yorkshire. They have been designing, innovating and producing products from their base for nearly 30 years. Through growth they are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join their team on a permanent basis. Working Hours: Monday-Friday 6:00am - 3:00pm The jobholder will ensure that, engineering, maintenance continuous improvement activities are carried out according to the relevant Business Management System Procedures; and that these activities meet agreed targets and budgets. This will be a 50/50 bias within Electrical/Mechanical. Reactive and Planned Maintenance of the following: - Mixing/Casting machines. - Shinkwrap/Palletwrap machines. - CNC Milling machinery. - Vacuum forming plant. - Grinding/Finishing equipment. Major Objectives 1. To assist with the organisation and completion of all internal and external maintenance activities; and assist with the development of the yearly plan for all maintenance and improvement activities 2. To carry out preventive maintenance activities, in accordance with the Preventive Maintenance schedule; and to ensure adequate resources for effective planned maintenance are available 3. To maximise plant reliability and efficiency, and to achieve continuous improvement, through the implementation of appropriate lean manufacturing techniques. 4. To assist with the organisation, management and evaluation of production trials of new materials and processes; and to assist with the introduction and validation of new processes, products and equipment 5. To assist with the gathering, recording, and evaluation of statistical process data; and to produce reports on machine efficiency. 6. To ensure that contractors comply with Company health, safety and environmental policies and procedures, and with relevant legislative requirements 7. To ensure the continued implementation of the departments Business Management System Procedures 8. To assist with the identification and management of all process improvement projects to increase supply chain efficiency Core Competencies 1. Positive can-do attitude, with a strong work ethic 2.
