On behalf of our client, ITS Southampton are recruiting for an Estimator to join a respected Main Contractor based in Portsmouth. Candidate required: Estimator Job Type: Permanent Start date: Immediate Industry: Construction professionals South Location: Fareham Salary package dependant on experience: Up to GBP50,000 + Package The role about the client: On behalf of our client, ITS Building People (Southampton) are searching for an experienced Estimator for a respected and renowned Main Contractor based in Fareham, to join their busy Commercial Team which has been operating for the last 40 years. They specialise in New-Build and Refurbishment projects across the South-Coast in 4 sectors: Educational, Industrial, Public Sector and Retail. Key Responsibilities: Preparation of monthly valuations, variation accounts with Sub-Contractors and Clients, settlement of final accounts Ability to work on multiple tenders in a busy environment Manage all aspects of bid preparation, bid strategies, cost comparisons, preparations of enquiries to sub-contractors and a deep understanding of our sector. Monitoring profit and loss (producing regular reports to monitor the progress of contract and factors likely to affect the profitability Organising attending site visits with Clients Subcontractors Be adaptable and able to quickly learn our software Causeway The position will be mainly office based in the office with site visits where necessary with a small friendly team. Health Safety knowledge would be an advantage and the ability to place material orders, RAMS and some procurement. The ideal candidate The ideal candidate preferably will be local and a hard-working individual with excellent communication skills, as well as a strong background within Estimating, ideally working for a Main Contractor or previous experience on various Commercial projects. Essential Qualifications/ experience required/ specific requirements for the role: Experience working for a Main Contractor Previous experience as an Estimator Experience Estimating on Commercial projects up to GBP6M Training/Progression opportunities: Future opportunities to progress into a Senior Estimator position Where a range of rate of pay is quoted the level of experience, qualifications related training required is the minimum required in order to qualify for the lowest rate of pay quoted.
