Head of highways and transport

An opportunity has arisen for a Head of Service with experience in Transport and Highways to join a client in London on contract basis. You will be responsible for leading a strategic service consisting of transport planning, highways engineering, road safety, capital delivery and developers (s278/48) agreements as well as managing a team of technical professionals, liaising with TfL and providing expert advice to external and internal bodies. This is a full-time contract position. The rate on offer is GBP500 - GBP550 per day - negotiable for the right candidate. Flexible working and working from home arrangements available. Duties Responsibilities: - Managing a wide service consisting of transport planning, highways, traffic, maintenance, capital projects and developer-lead work - Leading and overseeing a team of professionals including engineers, transport planners, project managers and external consultants - Leading on the liaison with Transport for London (TfL), external government bodies and members of the public where and when necessary - Overseeing the framework contract management, PFI contracts, Bakerloo Line Extension and other parts of the Highway Network Previous experience in Transport and Highways at a senior level is essential for this role.
