Team leader ndash; commercial industries access school

Across the School of Commercial Industries Access, the curriculum currently includes students on 16-18 study programmes, adult part time programmes, Access to HE programmes and a number of Degree programmes. The focus is on ensuring that current and future students receive a first class experience that enables them to progress and attain their qualifications at high levels and to develop long-lasting learning and employability skills. We are also very excited to be developing a GBP1.5m Health suite incorporating a medical ward, care home suite and dispensary as well a virtual reality suite, which is all set to be open in September 2024. The Team Leader will be responsible for curriculum standards and outcomes for a number of programmes across the School, specifically in the curriculum area of Early Years (including Special Educational Needs), part time Adult Health programmes and Access to HE. Monitoring academic staff across the School and conducting appraisals, you rsquo;ll ensure the quality of teaching being delivered to students and that programmes meet the needs, standards and requirements of all partners, including awarding bodies, employers and higher education institutions. The Team Leader will also have the role of Safeguarding Officer across the School. We rsquo;re looking for someone who holds a degree or relevant professional qualification in a relevant subject area and who has excellent teaching skills in at least one of the following curriculum areas; Adult Heath Social Care, Early Years and Special Educational Needs. You rsquo;ll be hardworking and flexible, and have experience of successfully monitoring and supporting lsquo;at-risk rsquo; learners to achieve or exceed their potential. We rsquo;d also like our Team Leader to have experience of leading / managing FE HE programmes, and ideally, but not essentially, have experience of managing, supporting, and developing staff. You rsquo;ll have a strong vision for the improvement and development of the curriculum area and have knowledge of impending curriculum changes (HE FE) and the implications for teaching and learning strategies. Subject to a cost of living review from 1 August, the successful candidate will be eligible for any subsequent increase in salary.
