The ideal candidate will ideally come from a similar manufacturing background (castings), with proven experience in minimising internal and external scrap. Role Description Key Responsibilities: To minimise internal and external scrap Ubiquitous pursuit for development and methodology of parameters that produce sound castings. Pioneer design modifications needed to enhance the quality, reduce lead time, tooling and manufacturing costs. Maintain calibration of simulation software and measurement tools Develop and maintain #39;right first time and everytime #39; culture Advance and support operational methodology of simulation software Co-ordinate and maintain QC systems according to VFL quality management Reduce cost of manufacturing and eliminate re-working Be a role model for the department to influence positive change Mentor employees with potential and passion for learning Skills and Qualifications Experience within a Process Engineer role within a similar casting manufacturing environment, ideally a heavier background Proven experience in reducing internal and external scrap Able to optimise methods of manufacturing tooling/rigging Able to update and maintain NPI Able to liaise with customers, machinists, subcontract tooling engineers and pattern-shops Company Information Our client is a leading specialist heavy process manufacturer, supplying into the diesel engine machinery, marine, defense, and general engineering industries.
