SEND Learning Support Assistant Sixth Form SEND unit Greenwich Full-time contract Start date: September 2024 (Interviews to be held in July 2024) Are you a dedicated and caring Learning Support Assistant looking for a new full-time position in September? A well-resourced Special Needs Unit within a sixth-form college in Greenwich are looking for Learning Support Assistants to join their staff on a full-time basis from September 2024. The role As a Learning Support Assistant, you rsquo;ll be working within the specialist SEND unit within this vibrant and popular sixth form college. Students within the unit are aged between 16 and 18 years and have a range of learning and development needs including Autism, ADHD and sensory needs. You will work closely alongside qualified teachers and professionals to provide support for students within the unit. There is a focus on enabling students to learn as effectively possible on their own and in groups, considering their needs. You will be required to identify opportunities for the student (s) to work independently where appropriate. Duties will include: Supporting students attending the SEND unit Assisting with the general pastoral care of the students Providing support for students rsquo; emotional and social needs by encouraging and modelling positive behaviour in line with the College rsquo;s Behaviour Policy Provide one to one support, where required Assist in planning of activities Assist with the supervision of students outside of lesson times. The school are looking for SEND Learning Support Assistants who has: Experience supporting children or adults with special educational needs A positive and pro-active approach A dedicated attitude with the ability to commit to a full-time position The ability to work independently and within a team Good written and verbal English The College: This successful, vibrant sixth-form college is based in Greenwich and offers a dynamic range of courses for post-16 education.
