Ellie Landscheit #x200B; Mon 13/05/2024 15:36 Design Engineer Winchester Competitive salary 1to1 Group have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer to join a busy manufacturing company in Winchester. To be successful in your application, you must have experience working on Solidworks. You will be responsible for creating new adapting existing products to customer specifications. The position requires that you work as part of a design team, but are also able to work unaided or unsupervised, being adaptable as necessary. You will be required to complete all aspects of the product design phase including concept design, detail design, detail drawings, design reviews (internal and with the customer), FMEA rsquo;s and all other steps to ensure a design project can be introduced into production. This role is fully office based. Day to day responsibilities: * Build up a detailed knowledge of a wide range of design and manufacturing processes, including plastic injection moulding, die casting, metal pressing and printed circuit boards, working with suppliers to produce the necessary tooling to manufacture our components. * Work closely with our Purchasing, Production, Production Engineering and Quality Departments as well as direct with suppliers, * There may also be a requirement to design and manufacture of assembly aids, assembly fixtures, test fixtures etc. * Compile costings from a customer rsquo;s concept using standard Microsoft Excel based cost models to ensure a quick response to the Product Management Team. * Track the costs for a project updating as required during the development of a design for the life of the project. * Provide technical support to our Product Management and Sales Teams, possibly including customer meetings and visits. * Produce Production related documentation such as Work Instructions, Wiring Specifications and Test Specifications as well as Test Reports Required skills, experience and attributes: * Suitable qualification in mechanical engineering (BSc/BEng or equivalent) * A minimum of 3 - 5 years experience as a design engineer * Experience as a team leader would be beneficial * Good knowledge and experience in Solidworks * Knowledge of AutoCAD and Corel Draw would also be an advantage * Good analytical skills * Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload * Ability to work and communicate with all levels within the organisation If you are interested in this position, apply with your CV today
