Health and Safety Manager An experienced Health and Safety Manager is needed to join us, a leading property restoration specialist company based in Park Royal, London. This diverse role ensures the continued support, coordination, and input into the health and safety requirements for a wide variety of projects, providing hands-on support on site. This role requires writing Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS) for numerous activities. Over the last decade, Thomann-Hanry has grown significantly and continues to expand its portfolio of works requiring a dedicated team and resource to enable the company to deliver the best possible service to all clients. Thomann-Hanry undertakes works to restore some of the most important and historic buildings in London such as the lsquo;National Gallery rsquo; and the lsquo;Bank of England rsquo;. Reporting to the Managing Director you will be responsible for continuously reviewing and updating risk assessments, safe operating procedures, and safety statements, as well as screening project sites for potential risks before work commences. Regular inspections of active project sites ensure ongoing compliance with safety protocols, and you will liaise with external parties such as government inspectors to evaluate processes. You will identify areas of risk and develop measures to mitigate them, collaborating with senior management to create emergency procedures and promptly reporting any incidents. Maintaining thorough safety-related documentation and conducting employee training sessions on safe work practices are key components of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will manage relationships with clients, stay informed on legal regulations, and oversee the implementation of ISO standards, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in health and safety management. To qualify, you should be an experienced Health and Safety Manager with construction experience who can demonstrate the following: Must have construction experience. Must be well versed in writing RAMS. Sound working knowledge of lifting plant and machinery. Exceptional knowledge of COSHH, CDM, LOLER standards and regulations. Expertise in specific skilled trades/type of work such as painting, stone masonry, HGV drivers and fa ccedil;ade/stone cleaners. Ability to access heights via ladders, scaffolding, and MEWPS. Good listening skills ndash; the ability to listen effectively and receive feedback from the employee perspective without passing judgment. Cultivating strong working relations to resolve project conflicts and making decisions where necessary. Good organisational and recordkeeping abilities ndash; the ability to maintain good records of all safety-related activities. High level management and implementation skills, including an ability to manage multiple strands of activity simultaneously. Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and the ability to communicate with a wide range of people. Highly developed interpersonal skills, with ability to work proactively with people at all levels. Well-developed negotiation skills, in order to re-negotiate deadlines and resources without creating unacceptable risk. Excellent team player with an outgoing and friendly manner. Excellent chairing skills to ensure output led and effective meetings. Ability to work well under pressure in a methodical and organised manner. High level organisational skills with the ability to work independently and prioritise workload to meet fixed deadlines.
