Finance business partner

Summary of Role You will monitor the sector financial performance and business growth bringing insight to decision-making, improving visibility on the cost drivers, adding financial acumen into the strategic initiatives, as well the day to day finance activities. You will report directly to the Divisional Finance Director and the role will be based at the Hall Kay Birmingham Office with travel to other locations in Ascot, Manchester and Central London. What you will be doing * Business Partnering ndash; Strategically partner with the Operations Team in achieving financial targets driving profitable growth through in-depth analyses, sharing of key financial insights (standard and ad-hoc reporting) and in taking day to day and strategic business financial decisions. * Presentation Strategic acumen ndash; Building sharing the story behind the numbers, propose recommendations, align corrective actions with sector Leadership Team and co-drive the execution. * Financial planning ndash; Includes assisting in the development of a coherent and robust annual forecasting, estimates and supporting the strategic direction for the sector and developing these into short (Forecast), medium (Budget) and long-term plans. Analysis of actual results vs. budget or forecast and presenting results, identifying, recommending or supporting cost savings and/or performance improvement initiatives. * Reporting - Provide input into the monthly, weekly and daily financial reporting, profitability analysis, commentary and variability analysis, to agreed deadlines. * Process Improvement ndash; Be source of proposals regarding existing processes improvement and simplification in alignment with finance overall and the operations team. * Working Capital ndash; Actively manage operating cashflows and working capital positions to achieve contractually agreed positions and maximise Company cashflow. Drive both profit improvement and cash generation initiatives. * Support - Supporting the DFD in delivery of strategic actions, including scrutiny and challenge on spend trends through the sector and maximising profitability. In addition, the development and implementation of best financial practices, system rollouts and line management of the admin and credit control team. * Technical - Responsible for a working knowledge of the terms and conditions of the contracts to ensure that all cost elements are appropriately billed and accounted for in accordance with JLL accounting policies. * Accountability ndash; Working independently, taking day-to-day ownership of some financial and commercial aspects of the Account or business unit. * People management - You will manage a small accounts team so will be responsible for providing support, direction and leadership to the team. What we will need from you * ACCA/CIMA Fully Qualified Accountant (essential). * A solid track record and experience in finance with previous experience in a business partnering role within a contracting business (essential). * An ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal (essential). * An analytical and numerical mind and the confidence to work with complex and big amounts of data (essential). * You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with senior management (essential). * You will possess a can-do attitude with a positive forward-looking mind-set. You will have a natural ability to navigate through ambiguity and challenge the status-quo (essential). * An ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines, organised with an ability to handle multiple assignments (essential). * You will be a team player who works cooperatively with others to enhance organisational effectiveness (essential). You will be a natural problem solver who can identify causes of problem situations and recommend solutions (essential). * You will have the capability to build effective relationships not just within the H K business but across the wider Integral and JLL Group (essential). * Intermediate level experience of using MS Excel skills including Pivot tables and sumifs formulas (essential). * Willingness to travel as required from time to time (essential). * Experience of people management/leading a team (desirable). * Experience of the fire protection and security sectors (desirable).
