Document Controller * Specialist M E Contractor * Fixed Term Contract * Up to GBP35,000 per annum * Site based: Birmingham City Centre * Start date: Mid-May 2024 We are currently searching for a Document Controller to join one of the UK rsquo;s busiest specialist M E Contractors. This role is on a brand-new scheme in Birmingham which will be starting in June 2024. The project has a two-year run time and this role will run for that duration. As Document Controller you will be the main point of contact on site for the design and operational teams for technical documentation. General roles and responsibilities of Document Controller: Document Management: * Implementing and maintaining document control procedures and systems. * Ensuring all documents are properly formatted, reviewed, approved, and distributed according to established procedures. * Managing the organization #39;s document repository, ensuring easy access and retrieval of documents. * Tracking changes to documents and maintaining document revision histories. Quality Assurance: * Ensuring compliance with relevant quality standards and regulations, such as ISO standards or industry-specific requirements. * Conducting regular audits to verify document control processes and identify areas for improvement. * Providing support during internal and external audits by ensuring document availability and accuracy. Communication: * Serving as a point of contact for document-related queries from internal and external stakeholders. * Facilitating communication between different departments or regional offices regarding document requirements and procedures. * Distribute important documents and announcements to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner. Training and Support: * Providing training to employees on document control procedures, including document creation, review, approval, and storage. * Offering support and guidance to employees regarding document management tools and systems. * Assisting in the development of document templates and guidelines to ensure consistency and efficiency. Continuous Improvement: * Analysing document control processes to identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks. * Proposing and implementing improvements to streamline document management workflows. * Keeping abreast of industry best practices and technological advancements in document management. Reporting: * Generating regular reports on document control activities, including document status, compliance metrics, and any issues or discrepancies. * Presenting findings and recommendations to management for decision-making purposes. Experience Required: * 3 + Years Document Control experience working in either a site administrator or document controller role. * Strong understanding of various EDMS systems such as 4 Projects, Sharepoint, Aconex. Other specific system training will be provided. * Experience working in the construction industry is essential.
