Job title ndash; Senior Engineer ndash; Auxiliary Contract ndash; Inside IR35 Location ndash; Scotstoun Hybrid working Duties: bull; 4 years + demonstrable experience in auxiliary bull; Ideally someone who experience in a similar role and has experience creating and managing piping systems. bull; Doing calculations and investigating pressure loss on piping systems bull; Ability to understand technical specifications and write technical reports. bull; Responsible for mentoring a junior engineer to pass on the knowledge. bull; Does not necessarily need a background in naval or marine engineering ndash; for example civilian designing hot and cold water for a building, same physics apply, nuclear power plant, distillery. bull; Good working knowledge of piping systems bull; Required to touch base with customers. Would be required to speak to suppliers a lot regarding new valves and pumps. bull; Calculation software ndash; fluid Flo, FORAN, AutoCAD bull; Creation of Schematics, Technical Specifications, Design Calculations and General Management of Auxiliary Fluid Systems. bull; Participate fully in developing, maintaining, and modifying engineering processes and procedures in assigned areas in response to technical developments and operational need. bull; Carry out technical analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of technical options, and prepare reports with suggested recommendations. bull; Prepare specifications, develop designs in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards, and carry out design appraisals in assigned areas to ensure all standards are maintained. bull; Carry out investigations into operational problems or developments and develop and prepare solutions, individually or as a member of a project team. bull; Support the identification of business opportunities and the preparation of bids in area(s) of expertise to facilitate the development of the highest quality bids. bull; Assist the team through the L D and performance management process, identifying training and development requirements and skill gaps. bull; Carry out technical investigations and assess/provide recommendations regarding consequences. bull; By understanding the transversal factors that marine systems have on complex warship design, such as underwater radiated noise, shock, survivability, operability, reliability, availability, human factors, and design for support; influence the overall design solution. Knowledge: bull; Experience in Mechanical Systems for marine applications. bull; Experience in the design, build, integration, support and operation of Naval ships. bull; Knowledge and experience of shipbuilding, Operations processes and modern build strategies. bull; Knowledge of processes and tools used in Marine Engineering bull; Awareness of Life Cycle Management reviews of bids and programmes. bull; Awareness of external market and similar industry advancements and developments bull; Understands how marine engineering integrates into other technologies and products.
