Senior Temporary Works Design Engineer (Excavations) Due to a number of exciting high profile contract wins working on some truly pinnacle developments across the uk, we are now looking to expand our Temporary Works design team ! This role is a pivotal hire for Conquip Engineering Group, the successful candidate/s will further compliment enhance our industry renowned and growing team within the scope of temporary works design. If you are a geotechnical wizard, or have experience within basement propping design and are looking to take the next steps within your professional engineering career, please do reach out for a confidential chat. ** Advanced Design Experience within the scope of Basement Propping and/or Excavations is vital for this role ** Main Purpose of the Role Responsible for the successful and efficient completion of major projects carried out by Conquip Engineering Group. Roles and Responsibilities middot; Lead a design team, applying your knowledge to mentor and guide other members. middot; Coordinate internal teams and subcontractors to meet project deadlines. middot; Design and check temporary works schemes, complying with company procedures and CDM 2015. middot; Take ownership of designs from conception to installation and offer support on site. middot; Collaborate with clients to develop efficient sequencing and value-engineered solutions. middot; Create methods statements and risk assessments for site installation work. middot; Ensure all health and safety regulations are observed. Experience Required middot; Construction project experience and methods of construction. middot; Design of propped excavations, cofferdams, working platforms, and slopes (Minimum 5 years). middot; Understanding of different methods of excavation support. middot; Analysis and design of geotechnical structures to current Eurocodes and industry guidance. middot; Design of bolted and cast in connections. middot; Interpreting Soils Investigation reports and selecting soil parameters. middot; Project management. middot; Managing teams and customer expectations. middot; Reading and working with plans/drawings. middot; Knowledge of CAD IT systems. Ability to sketch/draw preliminary and detailed designs. Other Experience (beneficial): middot; Design of thrust blocks, mass gravity walls. middot; Design of piles, piled walls, sheet piles, king post walls, plunge columns, and corbels. middot; Design and detailing of Temporary Reinforced Concrete and Steel structures to relevant codes. middot; Understanding of Temporary Works with BS 5975. middot; CSCS, SSSTS / SMSTS, and TWCTC. Basic Skills Required middot; Possess a valid driver #39;s licence. middot; Work well as part of a team. middot; Have excellent planning and organisational skills. middot; Possess strong analytical and design abilities.
