Civil Engineer Derby Skills Required: Specific experience in the use of AutoCAD for technical drawing will need to be demonstrated at interview. A strong background of Degree level Civil Engineering and a logical analytical approach to problem solving should be demonstrated. Civil3D or PDS, InfoDrainage or MicroDrainage software experience. Knowledge of the construction industry and basic health and safety is essential. Purpose; My client has an immediate vacancy for a civil engineer to work within their experienced Derby civil engineering design team. Responsibilities; The Civil Engineer Derby role will involve the design and drafting of SuDS schemes, private externals works, Section 38 and Section 104 works for adoption. The role will also include the design and drafting of civil engineering works across sectors including residential, industrial, commercial and more. Designs range from multi-storey structures to small housing schemes and range in construction value from GBP250,000 to GBP30M. Many projects are undertaken to BIM level 2. The team works for clients throughout the East Midlands and United Kingdom. Design works are undertaken using Microdrainage, InfoDrainage, Civil3D and PDS industry standard software with final drawings produced in AutoCAD. The role will also involve deputising for the team leader regarding the planning and organisation of tasks, people and resources to deliver projects on time and in accordance with the current design guidelines. Experience; The role would suit a civil engineer with two to five years #39; post graduate experience. The successful candidate will be given on the job training to develop their skills and they will work closely with the other members of the civil engineering team, with additional mentorship provided to work towards Chartership with the ICE. Knowledge of the construction industry, relevant design standards and basic health and safety is essential. A logical analytical approach to problem solving should be demonstrated. Specific experience in the use of AutoCAD for technical drawing will need to be demonstrated at interview. Experience in the use of Civil3D or PDS, and InfoDrainage or MicroDrainage is required. Hours of work: A minimum of 37.5 hours per week, core hours are 9am until 4pm, Monday to Friday where staff are required to be at work.
