Level 2 Teaching Assistant Location: York, North Yorkshire Start Date: May or June 2024 Salary: GBP83 - GBP100 per day GSL Education are seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to work at an Alternative Provision in York, North Yorkshire starting in May or June 2024. Level 2 Teaching Assistant requirements: Experience and knowledge of social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH). Hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant Certificate, Diploma or Qualification. Have at least 6 months experience in an educational setting which can be referenced. Be able to engage with young people and build effective relationships. Be confident in managing behaviour within a school setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one with GSL Education. DBS sponsorship is available for this position. Level 2 Teaching Assistant duties: Working under the direction and guidance of teachers supporting individuals, small groups, and whole class situations. Conduct General Teaching Assistant duties including administration tasks. Use strategies, in liaison with the relevant staff members, to support pupils to achieve learning goals. Assisting with classroom management and behaviour support. Support with the planning of learning activities.
