About You As the Strategic Lead ndash; Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine (FICM) Independence Programme, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction and operational framework of the organisation. Working closely with the FICM Executive Board, the RCoA Board of Trustees and other key stakeholders, you will be responsible for building the foundation of the new charity and driving its plan for growth and impact in the healthcare sector. Our ideal candidate brings extensive senior or executive leadership experience within the nonprofit sector, particularly in health-related organisations or initiatives. They excel in strategic planning and execution, particularly in change management, adept at translating vision into tangible results. About the Role The Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine is committed to delivering its goal to become the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM), independent of its current home at the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA). CICM will build on the growth and development of FICM to become an independent professional and statutory body for the specialty of Intensive Care Medicine, the doctors who lead critical care services and Advanced Critical Care Practitioners, and Critical Care Pharmacists. The new College will work on behalf of members and stakeholders to promote education and standards, influence and define national policy, and, most importantly, improve outcomes for patients and their families. As we embark on this mission, we are seeking an experienced and driven Strategic Lead to define, develop, and lead the Independence Programme, efficiently setting up the College as a new, financially viable and effectively governed independent charity. Duties include, but are not limited to: Lead on the development of an ambitious and realistic strategic plan that outlines the goals, objectives, and activities of the new charity. Develop and implement strategies that secure a sound financial underpinning for the new charity, whilst clarifying any detrimental impacts for the RCoA. Prepare the plan to lead, develop, and support a team of highly engaged professionals committed to the new College rsquo;s mission and values. Working with the Associate Director of Faculties at RCoA, contribute to the continuing development of programmes and initiatives within FICM that will address the needs of College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM) members, and the healthcare needs of patients and the public. Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including members, supporters, volunteers, staff, trustees, and external partners.
