Working with a talented team of Chartered, mid-level and graduate engineers, their Civils Division are seeking a highly motivated, dedicated Senior Civil Engineer to support the Civils Team in their Derby Office. The successful candidate will have sound experience in a wide variety of Civil Engineering projects including highway and drainage design and have experienced complex and challenging structural designs from conception to completion. THE RESPONSIBILITIES middot; Providing high quality concept, preliminary and detailed technical design on projects requiring highway and drainage design. middot; Carrying out a range of drainage calculations, including QBar, attenuation storage, soakaway sizing, foul loads, pipeline capacities and network analysis for a range of drainage applications. middot; Carrying out a range of adoptable and non-adoptable highway, driveway carparking and footpath structural pavement designs for a range of permeable and non-permeable surfaces. middot; Preparing Developer Enquiries, Environment Agency product requests and LLFA information requests, relating to drainage designs, flood risk assessments and drainage strategies. middot; Preparing S104, S106 and S185 application forms and associated packages for submission to the Drainage Authority and Planning Authority. middot; Preparing S184, S278 and S38 application forms and associated packages for submission to the Highway Authority. middot; Report writing, e.g. Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategy Reports etc. middot; Ensuring that projects are undertaken to the specified budget and time frames. middot; Management of sustainability criteria middot; Complying with designers #39; duties under the CDM Regulations middot; Supervising the CAD/Revit technicians and junior engineers on technical / construction details and undertaking QA reviews middot; Selling, marketing and business development of existing clients and being alert to new leads ESSENTIAL middot; Confidence and ability with team and project management middot; Ambitious, committed, and with integrity middot; Good experience of drainage and highway design software middot; Strong attention to detail and accuracy of own work and that of others working with you middot; Ability to supervise and develop a team whilst working as part of a wider team middot; Be proactive without supervision middot; Client focused approach with good interpersonal and communication skills.
