Veritas Education are working with a #39;Good #39; Primary school in Chorley, Lancashire is looking for an experienced and approachable Autism specialist Teaching Assistant for a position starting as soon as possible. Autism (ASD) Specialist Teaching Assistant - Chorley Autism (ASD) Specialist Teaching Assistant SEN Teaching Assistant TA Chorley Full time position GBP70 - GBP85 per day GBP13,675-GBP15,625 annual salary #39;Good #39; school ASD Teaching Assistant Information: For this position you will need to be an experienced Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant who has worked with young pupils on the Autism spectrum. You will need a strong understanding of the autism spectrum and how to use specific IEP #39;s to provide effective support to this pupil. You will have to be able to keep the pupil focused on their work and be aware of any particular triggers that may cause a behavioural reaction. Should there be a reaction, having a variety of de-escalating techniques to help control the pupil and the situation. Working with SEN pupils has to be a passion, as everyday will propose different obstacles for you to overcome. It can be a very challenging and emotionally testing position, but having resilience and tenacity to persevere will be key in succeeding. Although this is a challenging role, it is hugely rewarding, seeing a pupil progress under your guidance is uplifting and makes all the tough times worthwhile.
