Project engineer

Role: support of the qualification process of equipment to military standards The role involves the creating of qualification test strategies for military equipment, to meet stringent customer requirements. This via the writing and gaining approval of unit test plans for equipment. Then overseeing the implementation of the strategy, leading to test house supervision and support. Finally writing, presentation and approval of test reports, which show that full verification of the customer requirement set has been achieved. Day to day role To include : Understanding customer qualification requirements to enable: Writing and maintaining qualification test plans Conducting pre-compliance and qualification testing on equipment Writing and maintaining test reports Closing out the Management of the verification process Liaising with external test houses Liaising and supporting Production, as required Liaising with customer qualification engineers Liaising with internal engineering to ensure design compliance Essential Areas of Technical Expertise Exposure to some or all of the following: Environmental testing , Thermal, humidity, shock, vibration : Def Stan 00-35 Mil Std 810 EMC/electronic testing : Mil Std 1275 Mil Std 461, Def Stan 61-5 Def Stan 59-411 Desired Areas of Technical Expertise Human factors assessment Integrated logistics support AR M DRACAS/FRACAS systems PHAST Required Skills Experience of standard office tools, Word, Excel, Powerpoint Good document craftmanship Experience of change control systems Other stuff Must be prepared to travel in support of testing Must be a hands on engineer Must be able to work with minimum supervision Full UK driving license Ideally hold SC clearance
