Part time cook

Are you a Commis chef looking for ad hoc work? Are you a high level catering assistant who is able to cook breakfasts and simple meals ? We are a Caf eacute;/bistro and looking for a Commis chef/Cook or up skilled catering assistant to join our team of chefs in a independent retirement village housing unit with external catering facilities for residents or the public. This is a part time role that will require you to work around 25 hours to 30 hours per week Mondays to Fridays. It will give you stability in that you will have weekly work in a friendly, welcoming and busy environment. The ideal candidate should have experienced working as a Cook/ commis chef or been upskilled as a catering assistant with good cooking skills for at least 2 years and demonstrate full knowledge of Food Safety, Food Allergen and Health and Safety. You will enjoy working within a small team be a great team player and love taking initiative when cooking. Shifts will start in mornings - it is imperative you are able to cook breakfast efficiently and take and cook bespoke orders for eggs. ONLY APPLY if you have been a cook/commis chef and can be referenced for these roles Some of the duties you will be responsible for are: * To assist in the preparation cooking and service of variety of hot and cold meals. * To ensure that all environment health regulations concerning food handling hygiene and preparation are strictly complied with. * To ensure that all overalls, tea towels and kitchen cloths are kept laundered and clean. * To check the temperature of chilled/frozen meals before and after cooking as directed on the company HACCP * Candidates must be able to work Mondays to Fridays, be able to pass a DBS and provide references within the last 2 years.
