JOB TITLE: Mechanical Service Assistant JOB LOCATION: Derby HOURLY RATE: GBP14.88 Paye GBP18.75 Umbrella HOURS PER WEEK: Average 40 hours per week SHIFTS: Days Various (days, nights and weekends) SHIFT DAYS: Monday to Sunday (flexibility to work weekends) HOLIDAY ENTITLEMENT: 33 Days per years DURATION: Long term START DATE: ASAP Candidates from the following backgrounds will be considered: Mechanical, Mechanical Assembly, Assemblers, Plant, HGV, Heavy Maintenance, Automotive, RAF, Armed Forces Position Summary: The role is carrying out Routine Mechanical Maintenance of Rolling Stock. You will specifically with a focus on mechanical maintenance and component changes. This position is the key focal point for the safe and reliable running of the fleet. This position is a fantastic opportunity for someone to develop their skills within the Rail industry. This position will be long term and potentially could turn into something permanent with scope to progress. The position is based on a busy maintenance depot and all applicants would be expected to complete the following: * Work from written instruction (VMI) * Work from Mechanical Engineering drawings, working to specific measurements * Replacing mechanical components to correspond to engineering drawings * Routine fleet checks ensuring that the Fleet are operated safely * Oil changes Candidates are required to have the following: * Be able to complete manual work. * Be able to work shifts. * Have a mechanical understanding / background. * Be able to work within a team. * Be able to work to strict work orders. * Be able to work to follow HSE guidelines. Qualifications * No formal qualification is required but NVQ 2 or above would be preferred.
