Manufacturing engineer

Our client is going through significant growth and are now part of an organisation turning over one billion euros! Their owners have committed to their site in Fife and significant investment is being made that will involve the manufacture of a product from one of their plants oversees. This will involve significantly capital outlay and the hiring of key individuals to help develop and manufacture the product and as such they are looking to hire a manufacturing engineer. This really is a proper engineering role and to be fair not many interesting roles like this become available as the manufacturing engineer won rsquo;t be siloed and you will get the chance to cover all areas of manufacturing engineering. This includes: * Lead and participate in continuous improvement process and product development within operations through the use of design for manufacture and LEAN principles. * Participate in the ECR/ECO process and support where necessary. * Participate in the internal and external audits ndash; ISO9001, ISO14001. * Support the business in making v buy and strategic outsourcing projects. * Seek out, research, develop cost analysis, and justification for new methods, procedures, equipment, and materials consistent to regulatory and best practise methods. * Design and implement manufacturing route / processes for all products to minimise NVA. Overseeing prototype development and assist in build activities. * Provide feedback to Design Engineering during New Product Instruction (NPI) ensuring manufacturability. * Design Jigs, Fixtures, carry out trials/testing with feedback and implement with process capability. * Identify manufacturing variability issues and work with Product Engineering, Production, and Maintenance to reduce or eliminate variation in manufacturing processes. * Participation in all health and safety related matters including risk assessments. * Working with the manufacturing staff and ensuring that their tools, equipment and training processes are adequate to produce products that meet customers #39; needs.
