Lead Building Physics Engineer GBP58k-GBP68k City of London A top engineering consultancy in the heart of London is seeking a talented professional to join their sustainability team and deliver on cutting-edge projects. As one of the pioneers in the UK when it comes to DfP and NABERS, this team of engineers are determined to deliver projects that are genuinely net-zero and have a track record of coming very close. The role will see you help lead and develop their energy modelling and building physics services and capabilities with a focus on achieving net zero carbon in operation for new build and existing buildings. Responsibilities: Support in leading and developing our energy modelling and building physics services Carry out energy predictions and assessments to the following standards: NABERS UK Design for Performance CIBSE TM54 - Evaluating Operational Energy Performance of Buildings ASHRAE Energy Modelling 90.1 Passivhaus planning package Provide expertise in thermal comfort, daylighting, and indoor air quality assessments. Collaborate with architects and other engineering disciplines to integrate sustainable design principles into building projects. Stay updated on local and international building codes and standards related to energy efficiency and sustainability. Ensure project designs adhere to relevant regulations and guidelines. Engage with clients to understand project requirements and goals related to building physics and sustainability. Provide clear and concise presentations of analysis results and recommendations. Provide support in the training and mentorship of junior members of the team. Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture. Requirements: Educated to Masters level in Engineering 5+ years relevant practical experience in a number of above energy assessment methodologies Ability to demonstrable a knowledge of building physics, mechanical design, energy modelling, and building performance. In depth-knowledge of dynamic simulation software, including advanced HVAC modelling is essential. An appreciation of coding or a modern programming language would be an advantage. A knowledge of the following areas of expertise would be beneficial: Dynamic Simulation Software Mechanical Design Building Regulations, EPCs Planning Issues Climate Based Daylighting Analysis Operational Energy Calculation and Life Cycle Carbon Costing LEED, BREEAM and WELL Standards.Whether you #39;re working in the larger corporate companies or a small SME this is certainly one to take note of.
