Senior design manager

About the role To support the implementation and manage the control of the design process to ensure that design and procurement are delivered to meet Client / Employer rsquo;s Requirements / Contractor rsquo;s Proposals requirements and are in line with agreed cost parameters. This role is within the Post Construction portfolio and is focussed on design elements related to Passive Fire Protection within live healthcare facilities. To support the Site Delivery teams by providing design input and compliant solutions. Experience of working within a live healthcare environment is desirable, as is a knowledge of NHS health building notes (HBN) and health technical memoranda (HTM). Knowledge of Passive and Active Fire Protection measures is also desirable. The role is site based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham What you #39;ll be doing Manage the development and implementation of design proposals ensuring they meet Client requirements including budget constraints, presenting proposals for approval to the customer. The design should deliver: Safety by design and ensure CDM 2015 compliance Compliance within the Building Safety Act Quality and compliance with legislation and internal standards Ensuring design meets the affordable parameters Liaise with all statutory bodies/authorities as required ndash; such as Building Control, NHS Fire Officers and Clinical staff. Who we #39;re looking for This role requires an individual with proven experience in delivering design services within a delivery environment with experience successfully implementing design strategies as well as relevant project experience. Particular experience of delivering such services in Post Construction is desirable. Experience of working within a live healthcare environment is desirable, as is a knowledge of NHS health building notes (HBN) and health technical memoranda (HTM). Knowledge of Passive and Active Fire Protection measures is also desirable. Relevant Professional membership with an appropriate institute, e.g. RIBA, BIBSE, IET, aligned to the workstream is recommended. A valid CSCS card is a requirement. Why work for us About us
