Job Advertisement: Internal Audit Specialist Location: York We are looking for a dedicated Internal Audit Specialist to join our audit team, primarily focusing on the education sector. This role is based in York and will involve travel across the North-East and Yorkshire. Role Overview: You will work under the guidance of a manager and collaborate closely with our internal audit team to provide comprehensive audit and assurance services to a diverse client base. Your contributions will be pivotal in supporting both our audit and accounts teams. Key Responsibilities: Plan and initiate audit assignments, preparing necessary documentation and liaising with clients. Compile detailed audit reports. Respond to ad hoc client queries and serve as a primary contact. Assist in statutory audits and accounts preparation as needed. Provide training and support to team members, and recommend improvements to our processes. Frequent travel to client sites in the North-East and Yorkshire.Requirements: Essential: AAT Level 4 qualification. Proven experience in a similar role within a general practice environment. Experience in conducting or leading audits. Strong project management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills and proficiency in IT, particularly Excel. Must be able to travel to client locations as needed.Desirable: Internal audit qualification from the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors. Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage, IRIS, Access, and Xero. Experience or knowledge of the education sector.Key Competencies: Effective communication and presentation skills. Proficient in writing clear and structured reports. Expertise in applying technology to achieve objectives. Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce solutions. Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
